Founded in 1954 on Rua 4 in the city of Espinho, a family style restaurant, Casa Meireles was a house known at the time for meeting friends and families, especially on weekends and summer holidays, as it was located in front of the beach da Baía, where conviviality and good mood prevailed in a beautiful Portuguese tavern decorated with wine barrels in which wine by the glass and a snack were the delight of customers.
As someone said: “Casa Meireles is an inspired restaurant, guided by a spirit of generosity and passion for quality ingredients and a close and familiar service”.
In 2015, the restaurant moved to 23rd Street, but it was responsible for transforming and modernizing it into an updated restaurant, where the spirit, good energy and the environment previously experienced accompanied the progress and quality of the food.
Currently, the restaurant is located on Avenida 8, right in the center of Espinho, about 100m from the casino, hotels, train station and the beach of Bahia, with a rustic / modern decoration, the delicacies accompanied the whole space and also they have rejuvenated keeping the original tradition and recipes since its foundation with regional and seasonal products.
Our kitchen likes to work with all kinds of ingredients, from the simplest to the noblest, but always in search of authentic and original cuisine while maintaining the right spices of traditional Portuguese cuisine served in very generous doses as mandated by the tradition of the house.
Our products are chosen with rigor, in which each one is carefully selected, treated and made, since with our suppliers we share the same passion for quality, authenticity and trust. From the artisanal fisherman of Xávega art that brings us the tasty fish that the sea of Espinho gives us ... to the small farmer who brings us the fresh vegetables of the day for Portuguese stew, weekend roasts and vegetable soup of the day, among others.
